Design Thinking is the term used to describe the approach used by designers to solve a problem or create an innovative project. It means taking ownership of your tools and working methods by refocusing on the human element. Design thinking is therefore an approach to innovation that seeks to combine analytical thinking and intuitive thinking. Design thinking relies largely on a process of joint creativity, requiring feedback from the end user. Stages of Design Thinking Initially, there were 7 (Define, Research, Ideate, Prototype, Select, Implement, Learn), but over the years the stages of design thinking have been reduced first to 5 (Define, Ideate, Summarise, Prototype and Test), then to 3 (Inspiration, Ideation, Implementation).
